The 5K classrooms went buggy last week!! They're learning all about insects, arachnids and myriapods in their reading unit. On Tuesday, April 23rd, the 5K classes walked to our middle school forest and went on a bug hunt. They used child spades, rakes and magnifying glasses to explore. They found ants, worms, bees, butterflies and even a big, huge slug!

Brookwood Families, We are excited to once again offer our school supply program, Brookwood Bundles. The teachers have thoughtfully prepared a school supply list for the 2024-2025 school year, and we are pleased to offer an opportunity to purchase these supplies right here from your school! Forms for this program have been given to students to bring home. If you are in need of another copy, please contact your child’s front office to get another set. The grade level supplies will be gathered into convenient and hassle-free bundles. They will include all of the supplies needed for the school year and will be ready and waiting for your child in their classroom on Open House Night in August. There is no need to brave the busy stores and worry if you’ll find all of the items on the list. Our team will take care of all the details so that you may enjoy your precious summer days! The end of the school year is fast approaching and schedules are filling up quickly. Please take a moment out of your busy schedule to consider this opportunity. Each bundle purchased will help support our Families in Need school supply program. Thank you for your support! *If you are in need of assistance for your child’s Brookwood Bundle, here is more information in regards to support: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1z2NGwcVOIG-2dt70GQRWl8KC_kkg3DrO/view?usp=sharing

This week, BMS hosted a group of future Physical Education teachers from Carthage College as they observed 7th and 8th grade classes. They will be back in the coming weeks to continue to learn and lead activities. We are so proud to be a school that colleges and universities turn to as a resource for examples of quality education.

We are SO excited to announce that all 4K-7th graders will be going home with summer school booklets today!! Classes are FREE for all students enrolled at Brookwood. ALL classes will be held at the middle school this summer. Students are registered on a first "received" basis -- due to popular demand and limited class sizes -- we enroll students as forms are turned into the offices. Forms should be turned into your child's homeroom teacher with the building they attend so they can get them submitted to the office in a timely and orderly fashion. What’s the best way to celebrate our girls and boys volleyball teams…..? By having an end of the day assembly with a student versus staff game!!!! Any guesses on who won?! Regardless….it was a great way to end the day and celebrate both teams.

On Thursday, April 25, the Village Garden Club of Genoa City will present the 4th graders with the saplings and discuss history, planting and care with them. Annually, the DNR provides approximately 50,000 free tree seedlings to fourth-grade students throughout the state. Seedlings come protected to keep backpacks clean and shipments include educational information on how to best plant and care for seedlings and trees. We are SO thankful for all of our community partners!

Market Day is an awesome learning experience for our 3rd graders. In social studies, they have been studying Producers and Consumers, and Saving and Spending. Students have created their own businesses with a handmade product. They have worked on supply costs, marketing and production. On Market Day, students set up their stands and sell their products. Every student and teacher receives 10 Apple Bucks on their way in and they can purchase whatever products they want. Yes, this is real life products, but not real money. Students have art work, crafts, slime, etc. It's like a farmers market set up and students are allowed to walk through and check out all the products. Attached is the YouTube video of last year's Market Day, if you want to get a better idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGvruYxdGgA&feature=youtu.be

Sharing YOUR Greatness! We ask our Brookwood families to share with us things our Brookwood students are doing outside of school so we can share in your greatness and how #MustangProud we are of your accomplishments!! If you have something to share....email it to Mrs. Xiong at Helen.Xiong@gcj2.k12.wi.us Let’s send good vibes to these Brookwood students that are on the Power Force Athletics team because they are headed to the All-Star World Cheerleading competition in Orlando, Florida: Arianna, Brynlee, and Ayla!!! At this competition, they will be able to compete against the best of the best. All Star Cheer differs from traditional cheer in that its primary purpose is competition, and THIS is THE pinnacle competition. Arianna has been an All Star Cheerleader since she was 3 years old. She is on two teams - the a senior level 4 and the junior level 4! Both of her teams have made into the Worlds! Ayla joined Power Force Athletics 3 years ago as a competitive cheerleader and this will be her 3rd year competing at the Worlds! This year, Ayla’s team: Celebrities has made it to the Worlds. On top of competitive cheer, she is also on the Power Force Athletics competitive tumble team and will be headed to the State Level next week. Brynlee has been competing in All Star Cheer since she was 5 years old. Her team, Brynlee, and her teammates have been working all season toward this goal. Brynlee participates on a senior level 4, and a junior level 4 cheer team; both of which will be competing against other teams from around the country.  We are SO #MustangProud of you all and wish you good luck!!!
