Thankful for the collaboration and opportunities our students have once they get to Badger…but it all starts with us as a K-8 District. Today, our Readiness Team was able to tour Badger’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and classes with their CTE Coordinator Jake Popanda. HUGE thank you to Mr. Popanda for taking time out of his day to spend it with us!! Seeing what Badger has to offer allows us to dig deeper into what we need to showcase and prepare our students for to get them career and community ready. Digging in to have kids understand and discover their own skills and attributes allows them to see the relevance in their educational growth! Thank you to all those that made this possible and to the Readiness Team for taking this time to dig deeper into our readiness work to bring back to the whole group to work towards our next steps to continue to Grow into Greatness.

Throughout the month of October, the 7th and 8th grade Literacy Enrichment class visited the 4th grade kids. The Literacy Enrichment class helped the fourth graders with the book they were reading, which was “What are you afraid of? Investigating fears and phobias.” Yesterday, the 7th and 8th graders helped the 4th graders with writing stories about the fear they read that day. The 7th and 8th graders said, “It was a lot of fun, we made new friends, and we learned new things. We look forward to meeting with them soon.”

Our District’s Families in Need Program is designed to help families within our school district who are having difficulty meeting the immediate needs of their children. We are thankful for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry for fulfilling food (year round) and toys (for the holidays) for our community. If you are in need of a clothing box for this holiday season for your child or children, please go to the following link to sign up: https://tinyurl.com/42je2as8 If you are interested in supporting our Families in Need Program, there are two ways to do so: 1. You can sign up to “adopt” a child or children. This means you are willing to purchase clothing for each child/children you are adopting. We ask that you please purchase, at minimum, 3-4 tops and 3 bottoms for the child/children you adopt. The overall anticipated cost is $60-90 per child. We will contact you on November 21st regarding the interests and sizing for the child/children you adopt. OR 2. Donate monetarily (our team will make the purchases needed for these families with your monies donated). Please submit your donations by December 8th to either school office under: Brookwood Schools - FIN c/o: Helen Xiong, 1020 Hunters Ridge Drive, Genoa City, Wi 53128.
