An annual tradition with Miss Flood! We always have to put this disclaimer on it though:
The Genoa City Joint 2 School District is not responsible for hospital stays, doctor visits, and/or any results due to the making and/or eating of any and all recipes posted in the following booklet.

Our STAFF IS AMAZINGGGG!
The District was excited to host its annual STAFF BES vs. BMS Pie Wars to raise money to purchase pies for our local food pantry: Loaves and Fishes. With the help of Stinebrink's Lake Geneva Piggly Wiggly, our staff was able to purchase 56 pies for this holiday season!
Congratulations to the BMS staff for winning the war...and as a special prize...a staff member was picked to pie Mr. Lubus for winning the war and our 4th & 5th graders helped the staff celebrate this win!

The kindergarten students have been practicing their writing skills by labeling their pictures and work. To kick off their farm unit, they painted paper plates to make their own 3D pumpkin and added labels to the parts of the pumpkin.

4K artists were excited to show off their Fall leaves they made in art class with Mrs. Horak.

In the 2nd quarter, 8th grade began science by working on their team-building. They went from small group to whole class teams by trying to untangle string that each scientist held. This was super successful as they had to use strong communication, listening, and collaboration problem-solving. Not to mention it was loud and hilarious!
They also worked on observation skills by having a random pan of objects for 2 minutes and then having it taken away. The objective was to remember as many objects as possible.
Different strategies were used by different teams and then discussed at the end.
As they start learning about the body systems, they outlined a partner and attempted to remember as many of the 19 bones that they are required to know as possible. Core 3 was
during 4th grade recess and a couple of them joined in on the fun!
So far it has been an amazing start to the 2nd quarter!

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Our GCJ2 Families in Need program is designed to help out families in our district who are having difficulty meeting the immediate needs for their children, which include but are not limited to clothing and toiletries for the children and laundry assistance for the family.
This year, we currently have 56 children enrolled in our program for our holiday bundle boxes which supply cold weather clothing for these children. Only 25 children have been "adopted".....we are in need of your support to get the rest of the 31 taken care of. Please help us help these children with some immediate needs for this winter season. You can "adopt" these children by purchasing the items for their holiday bundle box or donate monetarily to our Families in Need Program.
Click on the following link to read more about this program and to sign up to help.

Our 6th-grade students recently hosted an exciting Spanish-Speaking Country Folk Fair, where they immersed themselves and others in the cultures of various Spanish-speaking countries. Each student created a colorful and informative project board highlighting a specific country's traditions, geography, and cultural significance. To bring the experience to life, they prepared authentic dishes representing their chosen countries, giving the visiting 5th graders a delicious taste of diverse flavors. This interactive event allowed students to connect with and celebrate Hispanic cultures while sharing their learning with younger peers in a fun and engaging way. It was a fantastic opportunity for all involved to broaden their perspectives and appreciate the richness of these cultures!

Games & Goodies for 4K students and family members. Come and enjoy an afternoon filled with games and snacks with your family's favorite game and snack to share with the group.
No regular 4K programming on this day -- November 20th
Event: November 20th 2pm at BES 4K classroom.
